Chris Thurlow
Principal Geotechnical Engineer
Chris is a Chartered Professional Engineer and Principal based in our Auckland office with over 12 years’ experience working in design consultancies. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and Masters in Geotechnical Engineering, both from the University of Auckland (New Zealand). Chris has developed broad experience working on infrastructure, commercial, residential and natural hazard projects in New Zealand, the UK and across the Pacific Islands, including Fiji, American Samoa and Micronesia.
Chris has extensive experience in foundation design, retaining wall and basement design solutions and slope stability assessment and remediation, as well as ground improvement projects and temporary works designs. He has a strong background in numerical analysis/ modelling and developing innovative design solutions to complex geotechnical problems.
Outside of work, Chris enjoys spending time with his two young kids and making (very) slow progress on the DIY renovation to the family home.
